Peter,
Interesting idea. I've been doing a search to see whether other cities in the USA might have something similar. The closest I've come so far are national approaches in the UK (where it's now mandatory to include this information as part of your Home Information Pack http://www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk/) and in Australia where, like the USA there are agencies providing recommendations rather than mandating the approach.
So, if we are talking about requiring energy efficiency ratings for the sale of residential units in Chicago, I wonder if this would need to be a national initiative, rather than a local one? Interested in your thoughts and approaches here.
Also curious to know whether others might find examples of other cities in the USA that have explored suggestions like yours. I know Mike B has started a thread to capture those ideas.
And in an effort to build support with homeowners, I wonder if we might want to get some numbers around this?
